The Seattle based Museum of Flight has a topic on it's website, requesting to identify a quite mysterious 2-seater on floats. I searched everything I have but I can't find anything on this.

Backfire, how on earth did you know that? Only one plane was built, and crashed over 70 years ago! And you recognized it? Your respect rating does indeed go up in my book.
