EMBRAER will be flying the EMB 170 into ROC on 9/3. It will arrive at around 1300 (1pm) EST and leaving around 1500 (3pm). Just thought all the spotters in Western New York and Southern Ontario might be interested.

Why is it there? KROC is probably interested  Big grin
I wonder if they will have ANOTHER nose gear collapse.
And when does the first 190 take to the skies.

You guys up in ROC are going to love her. We get them here at FLL from time to time. Great looking bird. And the engines have a nice "Purrr" to them.

Is Jonathan Icasas still in Rochester, I think he went to RIT. He's contributed a lot of excellent ROC shots to Airliners.net over the past year. If only I were going to be home in Rochester, I'd try to get some pictures!

We'll get our turn, though....with US Airways loading up on EMB 170's, we'll be sure to see lots of them. And JetBlue, according to Aviation Week, wants to use EMB 195's to up our frequencies to JFK.

This is most interesting! I might just have to take a hop up to Rochester on my favorite airline (duh) and check it out!

Thanks for the heads up!

UN_B732,

About the nose gear collapse, has the EMB170 had a nose gear collapse? As far as I know, the incident last week was an undeployed gear landing due to pilot error.

As for EMB190, the June 2003 progress report from Embraer is showing a maiden flight for first quarter 2004, and mid-2005 certification and first delivery.

I wish I could be at ROC to see the 170  Crying

The 170 will actually be at JFK prior to its flight to ROC, on display for those at JetBlue to become acquainted with the smaller brother of the 190. JetBlue is getting a hundred 190s starting in 2005.

The flight to ROC will include some JetBlue dignitaries, mainly checking cabin comfort, etc. Should be interesting... I'd like to think the nose wheel collapse was just an anomaly and not something that will curse the 170/190/195 series.

I'm moving from Rochester this weekend! Bummer!

Eh, I'll be able to get some good pics from ORF, PHF and the naval base so it's a tradeoff.

Hopefully someone can get some pics; I'll be watching for them.

You too? I unfortunately had to give up on sending photos to Airliners.net a while ago, until I get a new camera. Maybe for Christmas.

I had the impression when the thread started that the plane was just coming in to do takeoffs/landings etc. But if this is an actual visit with dignitaries of an ROC carrier that will be using a similar a/c, that means local dignitaries will probably stop by, and there will probably be media coverage. I'll watch the Democrat & Chronicle and WOKR websites.

The EMB 190 will be at JFK terminal 6 on Sept 2nd and Sept 3rd, on display for jetBlue employees. Its flying to ROC on Sept 3rd as a demo flight for 74 winners of an employee contest at jetBlue, just to see how it operates. The EMB 190 will also tour SLC, OAK, and LGB later on this year - I'll post it and let'cha all know when as soon as I find out the dates....
