Well i could tell you what it feels like to fly on a brand new airplane, just not the NWA A330.

AA has a 757 retro jet. I flew on that aircraft when it had 12 hours TT on the aircraft. That was cool. Those sheep skip pilot seats felt sooo cool, shoot the whole airplane was amazing, no dirt or nothing anywhere on the plane. Super clean. I will always remember that flight. I saw the retro 757 here at ORD about a month ago sitting at the international terminal and say hydrolic fluid all over the elivator....what a shame, thing needed a bath bad.

Are you sure that wasn't de-icing fluid? Couldn't see why they would need it in summer but a bunch of hydrolic fluid on the tail doesn't make much sense unless there was a leak in the tail movement.

I dont know for sure what it was, i was taxing by on an MD-80 and saw it sitting at the terminal. All i saw was some black fluids that ran down the back of the elivator. It stood out because on the Retro Jet the elivator is painted red.

On Sept. 11th I'll be coming home from Amsterdam to Detroit on the NWA A330. I'll see what pictures I can get and which airliners.net will except. I wonder if it will have new plane smell to it?

Nice stories, but I think the question was directed about NW A330. Hopefully someone will have a nice trip report to compile and make a thread.

The newest plane I was on was from ORD-LAS on a 767-300. It came in from SFO and then it went on to LAS. The FA informed us that this was its second revenue flight. The SFO-ORD was its maiden flight. Very clean seats and very sterile. Also no stains on the floor or crumbs,etc..

YEP! Have flown the NWA A330!
I work for KLM and while training their pilots on the A330 NWA held some employee survey flights. The flights were made in August on the Detroit - Amsterdam route.
On three of those flights KLM employees (40 per flight) were invited to fly to Detroit and back to Amsterdam the next day. I was one of the lucky who got onboard.
The aircraft flies great and very comfortable. Especially the new business class seats which are unbelievable!
The inflight entertainment system is also great. Video on demand (a dozen or so movies to choose), games (bit dull, but I guess a game must be neutral) and email. The economy passengers have a screen in the seat in front of them. The business class passengers have a really HUGE screen that comes up from the arm-rest.
Don't know if the pilots were just that good, or if it's the aircraft, but both landings were extremely smooth.
Looking forward to my next flight onboard an A330. KLM will get some in 2005.

Off topic; KLM's first 777-200ER (reg. PH-BQA) is in the final stages of assembly. The cabin interior is being installed right now. She already bears the new KLM colors. To bad I am not allowed to share the photo's I have with you guys. The PH-BQA will arrive at KLM's homebase Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM) at October 25th.
