American Is Increase Flight From MIA-LHR/SAL

Hello Everyone,

This is came in with the news today and American Airlines are make with incrase more flight out of MIA to LHR & SAL flight, too. So here it is with those news:

Will increase frequency on its Miami to London Heathrow route from 7 to 9 flights a week on 26Oct03. AA will add a 2nd flight on Saturdays and Sundays. All will operate with a Boeing 777-200.

Will increase frequency on its Miami to San Salvador route from 12 to 14 flights a week on 15Dec03. All will operate with a Boeing 737-800.

They are gearing up for the busy holiday season. i doubt that it is a permament addition.

I'm not sure about this, but the additional LHR flight may be part of the restructuring of the STL hub. After November or so, AA won't be flying any international routes out of STL. Some of the LGW flights are shifting to DFW, but some may be going to MIA as well via LHR.

It is winter only. AA has done this in the past. Sadly, MIA-LHR is only going to be 9x a week instead of 14x it was last year. Probably because there is a lot of extra trans-Atlantic capacity this winter...LH to MUC, LY to TLV, aAY to HEL, and AZ upgrading to 777s. The demand is there to fill two daily AA 777s, but its a much smarter move for them to perserve the yield.
