Has anyone ever gone to one of these events in the past? I searched on the USAF Events Site and they list some sort of support for this event... its on October 4 and lists it as "static display." I haven't found any other information regarding it and I'm seriously thinking about coming up from South Jersey for this.

Went to the 2000 EWR Airport Day. It was fun, lots of food, people, music and a few planes. Was with Carlos that day and his shot of the UPS 767 is below. There was a CO 777 & 735 along with a Fedex B727-200 on static display.

I'd love to go to the model airplane show, as I had to scrub my plans to go down to Virginia Beach for many reasons, but seeing I just found out about it and the fact that I don't have any money to spend on models, I'd have to pass on that. There should be something like that in the Cherry Hill/Philadelphia area!

As for the Airport Day, is it free and what is it like? I'd like to come up, even though I do know that traffic up in that part of New Jersey really sucks!

Yeah the model airplane show is pretty good, you can get some good deals there. I plan to get 5-10 more models this saturday giving me a total of around 60 model planes. I'll be driving up there from South Jersey and it really isn't that bad of a trip on a Saturday, maybe 1 1/2 hrs with little traffic. I will also be doing some spotting at EWR because it looks like it will be a great day.

BTW, USAir1489 are you from the Cherry Hill area?

I believe EWR's Airport Day is October 4 and the best way to get to the airport is from the NJ Turnpike, either exit 13A or 14 (don't hold me to those exits!). I'm also in need of what time it will be... since I have a habit of leaving ungodly early when I head up towards NYC and points north (especially for airshows).

I live east of Cherry Hill. I only used that as a reference point.

The show on this Saturday which is not only models but books/magazines,videos,slides.photos and airline memorabilia in general is actually at the EWR Airport Sheraton (in the NE corner of the airport on one of the service roads) and is a great event for anyone who loves this business, HIGHLY RECCOMENDED.
