Provisional Winter 2003/2004 Schedule and aircraft allocation has been released, a few points:

Male confirmed ex-MAN and LGW (shared flight, 763) every Monday afternoon
Recife (Brazil) starting weekly from LGW (763) on Wednesdays from December
Montego Bay is back (ex-LGW, 763) with some MAN flights in Nov / Dec
Punta Cana is back (LGW Wed 763 / MAN Sun 762) weekly throughout
Tenerife North (TFN) back again from LGW and MAN but also ex-BHX (all 752)

And some interesting new Cruise Charters over the Winter to:

Cape Town (763 via LPA)
New Orleans (762 via BGR and 763 direct)
New York JFK (once in November with a 763 from EXT!)
Rio de Janeiro (763/762 via LPA)
Santiago (762s and 763s via BGI)

Oh, and LBA fans will be pleased to know they will see a few 767-200s again come April in the wind-up to Summer 04, suggesting a based 762 might return next Summer at least for a few weeks.

About the LPA-CPT (where will the flight originate?), will there also be passengers destined just for LPA on the flight?

I seem to remember that a stop at LPA, enroute to SA, was discussed once on this board, and it was mentioned that LPA is waaay off the Great Circle route between the UK & SA.

Yes that was discussed before with regard to the AV8air services from MAN & NCL to SA.

I can only imagine the presence of an existing handling contract at LPA makes it financially the best option, though the fuel isn't exactly cheap so I'm still a bit miffed I must say.

The flights are special cruise charters for the P&O / Royal Caribbean contract so I imagine passengers will be on board all the way from LGW to CPT. It is not inconceivable that there may be some destined for LPA however as there are many cruises departing from there too.

No CMF flights I'm afraid, but the usual rush of GVA and LYS ski flights, plus Tououse and Turin.

Nothing at GNB this year. Can't speak for Britannia Nordic though, they may have some 737s going there.

Thomson (and Crystal, also a TUI company I think) offer a Saturday EMA-CMF flight in the ski season.

Can only assume it's operated by another carrier as we certainly aren't doing it this year.

Will work this out when I get chance and post here. NCL looks to have a 752 operating to:

ACE, AGP, ALC, LPA, PMI, SZG (Dec-Mar), and TFS.

Rick,
any indication on the number of flights to GVA on Saturdays and Sundays?
Also do you know if Thomson or Crystal will have other airlines fly to GVA than Britannia?

Thanks,
Tim

After having frozen my ass out there during all last winter I know what airlines fly here, I'm looking for a bit more details than that (new charter airlines). I have found out that Excel will be serving GVA from LGW and MAN this winter.

Graham, Thanks for reply though.

Liverpool Airport's website says that they have a flight operating to the caribbean this winter on behalf of P&O Cruises also. Do you know if this is going to be operated by BY aswell? Whoever operates it, it will be LPL's first long haul flight to the Carribean.

If you're not busy on Monday 19th January 2004, there is a 767-200 doing a cruise charter to Barbados at 09:55 (BY799A).

Comes back through on Tuesday 3rd February 2004 as BY799B routing BGI-BRS (direct) then ferrying to LGW. If you want to get up at 04:25 on a winter morning  Big grin

No cruise flights from NCL, Rick?
Related note, Im sure I read ages ago about an EAF charter from NCL to Puerto Rico using a 747. Anyone know if this is still planned? EDIT: Just found that the above flights will operate NCL-LGW-San Juan probably using EAF a/c I think. END EDIT
I take it the BRS-BGI flight will stop at SNN?

Sorry it's not us, all we have is a 'W' pattern from ALC this Winter @ LPL (757 on tuesdays). European do a bunch of P&O charters too so you may get a jumbo!
