Looks like Hethrow is diverting some traffic (due to the fog?). I'm gonna see about geting the afternoon of, anyone who can get on over there and take some photos would be much appreciated (I've seen a United 777 and Virgin A340 so far).

Apparently there were quite a few diversions to CWL as well, a VS 747, 4 BA 747's (???) and some smaller stuff.

The VS4 JFK-LHR (G-VAST) was planning to divert to BHX when I left work this morning. The problem was that the fog wasn't forecast and yet LHR/LGW/STN/LTN were all on RVR's and LCY was closed! So everyone got caught with their trousers down  Sad

By the time my highness king Ikarus awoke, it was a clear sunny day with blue skies.... Big grin

Anyway. Hopefully this is going to happen a lot in the coming months, for I am leaving London for the area around Cardiff, and I'd rather like to see the occassional jumbo jet!  Big grin

I was on the BA116 (747 from JFK-LHR)

The Captain made a good call and we went to Shannon, near enough in and out so we only picked up a 2hr arrival delay.

Biggest complant was a 15min handling delay at LHR whole they waited to find steps and then busses, BA should really have brought in more staff to speed up the process and BAA need to sort out passport control (for non-EC nationals)

That would explain why I saw a Kenyan 767 landing around 12 this afternoon!
