Yesterday, the new airline EuroJet took delivery of its first aircraft, a Boeing 737-400 (ex-BA aircraft).

Here's the link: http://www.worldairnews.ch/EAPFoto/FotoFram.htm

The picture shows the aircraft after its delivery flight from Dinard to Basel-Mulhouse. EuroJet is a French registered airline (St.Louis, Alsace) but flies for the Swiss travel agent Avione and the German travel agent www.flieg-ab-basel.de

In the next few months the first B-767-300 (ex-LOT Polish) for EuroJet is expected.

Here's the winter schedule:

B-737: Monday: Basel-Hurghada-Luxor
Tuesday: Basel-Assuan-Nosibe (Madagascar)
Friday: Basel-Marrakech- Paris Orly-Marrakech-Basel
Saturday: Basel-Las Palmas-Dakar
Sunday: Basel-Tenerife-Orly-Tenerife-Basel

B-767: Monday: Basel-La Romana
Tuesday:Basel-Male-Colombo
Friday: Basel-Cancun-Varadero
Saturday: Basel-Fortaleza (Brasil)
Sunday: Basel-Puerto Plata

Interesting, do you know is this aircraft going directly from LOT or maybe it's from Pembroke Capital (last used by LOT as SP-LPD, probably stored for the last year)?

I was at the EAP yesterday evening to ge a glimpse of the 737... Definetly feels good to have something new at BSL.. The apt can use the traffic.

I wonder when it'll make its first revenue flight for Avione.... I'd like to be there and pop a bottle of champagne once it takes off  Wink/being sarcastic

@Gdabski: Sorry I don't know if the plane is coming directly from LOT or not...

@IwantaBBJ: An Avione official mentioned that the plane will start operations next week!

I've heard nothing of any 767s leaving the LOT fleet. But with Gdabski, I'll assume it's SP-LPD.

Just to clarify the name of the airplane it is GDANSK not Gdabski.
I also have not heard of any planes leaving the LOT fleet. Maybe the plane will be leased, since after the summer Lot will have much less Norh American traffic.

SP-LPB is Gdansk. SP-LPD was acquired from Malev.

I was also referring to the A.net user Gdabski...now the Gdansk.  Big grin

 Nuts

BTW, they expect a third aircraft (another 737) in early 2004. Currently they are offering jobs to around 140 people, 110 are flight crews. The flight crews are mainly ex-Crossair employees.

A destination in Venezuela will be launched as well!
