Maybe an old topic, but I´ll ask anyway.

Anyone knows what LH´s order of 45
A340´s gonna look like? Know that they
have an order of 10 A346.......

Cheers
Michael/SE

to the best of my knowledge, this figure consists of

28 A340-300s of which all have been delivered
7 A340-200s of one was sold to the Sultan of Brunei and the remaining are being phased out
10 340-600s on order

cheers

Daniel is correct. There is no "new" order for 45... but LH has placed orders for a total of 45.

Does the 45 include the number of A340-orders that were cancelled when they ordered 10 A333s?

In the JP I just counted the following:

x 8 A340-311
x 20 A340-313(X)
x 10 A340-642 on order

When you add the previously operated A340-211's, you come to 45. So to answer your question Max: the 45 does NOT include the number of cancelled A343's when the A333 was ordered.

For the rest, they currently operate 5 A330-223 (ex SN and SR) and 2 A340-311 ex-SN.

Regards
Frederic

Oh BTW, the first 346 is in FRA today, but in primer colours, for a service test with the new lower deck galleys. The new interior and especially the stairs to the lower deck area look really cool, I wish I could show the photos...

Frederic,
thank you for the info. Man it's about time I order a new issue of "Zahlen Daten Fakten" as there is always detailed information on the fleet of the airline. The newest one I have still shows 8 747-200s in operation...

Does anybody know the routes where LH's new A340-600s are planned for? I would really appreciate information about that.

regards
