I remember when I lived in Kansas City in the '80's, a local TV station that had a late-night "funny guy" in between TV shows who had a set of 3 airliner seats that he said he'd give away to the first person who made it to the TV station... That's as close to that sort of thing as I've ever come....

Finally made it to an airline mecca!

Check out eBay--you see them there all the time. Try searching for "aircraft seats", "airline seats", or "passenger seats", you'll find them.

There was one guy up in Ohio who had a whole bunch of them that came out of a 767. Since he was near the Airborne Express hub in Wilmington, I presume they were out of the 767s that Airborne acquired from ANA/Japan and converted into freighters.

When American introduced MRTC a few years back, they had a promotion to win some of the seats that had been removed from the planes. I entered but never won.

You can buy some in the Victorville area, CA My father-in-law got me a half-row(3 seats) of Delta economy for I believe $10 per seat. They're in really good condition. And from my understanding there are hundreds of them from all different airlines and they have many different airline related items (cockpits, and fuselages)

I bought a row of 4 economy class seats ( 747) from LH five years ago when they changed the interiors.
I love them and they are the centerpiece of my living room!

Whoa they sell em out in VCV!? Should've figured but man have to say this is the best kept secret I've heard out here in the Mojave Desert.  Big thumbs up

BTW do I have to go to SoCal Logistics Airport or do they have some warehouse/dealer that sells em?

I was sure my post went through, and, I've received no deletion notice so I'll just try again.

Boneyard2u.com. If any airplane part is available, he can get it for you. Seats are easy and fairly cheap if you can pick them up. Shipping is very expensive for obvious reasons.

Oh yes. I must add that I make nothing from any sales and I am in no way associated, except by friendship, with the owner.

Damn, this website is getting worse daily.

Lufthansa definitely had (still has?) them on sale, I bought a 737 economy 3-seat row from them (the old style seats). They make for a great computer chair - my seats were obviously from row 1 since they have tray tables in the armrests, very hand to put the keyboard and mouse on!
They had no seatbelts when I got them but I managed to get 3 Garuda seatbelts from a German aircraft interior shop. And yes I do fasten them sometimes Big grin

It is as simple as that : you buy a secondhand 747 (many available on the markets right now) and you will get full ranges of seats included in the price. Make your choice and good luck. Kilavoud.
