KLOTEN, Switzerland (AP) -- a plane of the airline company Swiss ensuring the Zurich-Dusseldorf connection had to make half-turn Wednesday after a collision with... of the birds.
An odor of turned russet was spread little after takeoff in the cockpit of the apparatus which transported 50 passengers, indicated to Thursday a spokesman of Swiss. Saab 2000 then turned back to return in Kloten.
Firemen had been mobilized for the landing, which proceeded without problem. The passengers could embark on board another plane.
The spokesman of the company specified that the birds had been caught in the two engines. The smell of burning was spread in the cabin by the system of ventilation.

The Saab 2000 is not what we commonly refer to as a "jet". But the engine is the same as any other jet. The only difference is that it is connected to a gear box and turns a propellor. I think that the engine is the same as that on the Embraer 145.
