I looked up on the Amadeus System and on Thursday the 25th it shows an A-330 operating the Dusseldorf - Accra! Did I miss something. Who operates this A-330. Is it an -200 or -300 series? Is it leased? Will it also come to HAM?
Who has infos?

It has something to do with the role BMI is taking in running Ghana Airways.

Definitely leased as they have 0 330s in the fleet right now(could change soon if the bmi rumours prove true). They are currently using a leased DC10 from Yat on the LHR run but still with the GH pilots I believe(dry lease?)
I'm guessing its either a Novair or Air Luxor 330?

I know they have used Skyservice A330's in the past, not sure if they still use them. They have wetleased the Skyservice A330's for many routes, including JFK. Maybe somebody else can fill in some more.

I thought that it was BMI who leased 1-2 A 332s of theirs to GHANA as they are taking over the management of the airline. I read that in Airliner World and Airline Review magazine Aug editions!

Behramjee, you could be absolutely right about that, but I am sure Ghana is using a variety of sources for the A330 wetleases. I do know for a fact that Skyservice has done quite a bit of business by wetleasing in the recent past. Whether or not they continue to do so, I do not know.

Yes, LTU did operate the Ghana flight one time with their
A330-200. But the question is: If Ghana hasn´t the money to
pay for their own two DC-10´s being parked in Rome after
maintenance, how they are gonna pay a sub-charter-carrier such
as LTU.

I think the Airbus is going to the US because of the american
rule that planes without the locked cockpit door aren´t allowed
to land anymore.

By the way Ghana brought in the sole JAT DC-10 on the DUS flight
for a few weeks now.

For tomorrow DUS airport still has an DC-10 in their timetable but this
will updated on the actual day only.

Cheers,

Dennis
