SN Brussels Airlines will start flying again to Monrovia as from October 2003.

SN Brussels Airlines had suspended the weekly flights to Monrovia late last spring due to the political tension in Liberia. Now that the situation in the country is stable again, SN has decided to re-open Monrovia on October 1st 2003. As from then, the Liberian capital will be connected once weekly with the capital of Europe

Flight SN215, operated with the modern Airbus 330-300 in Business and Economy Class configuration, will leave Brussels on Wednesday at 11h05 and arrive in Monrovia at 16h10 local time. The return flight is scheduled to leave Monrovia International Airport at 17h50 local time.

SN Brussels Airlines is the only airline connecting Liberia with Europe.

This flight operation will be of great logistic help to the international community in enhancing the accessibility of the country and connecting it to Europe and many destinations beyond, says Executive Vice-President Network Erik Follet.

The re-opening of Monrovia is further proof of the huge expertise SN Brussels Airlines has on the African Continent. Including Monrovia, SN Brussels Airlines offers its passengers currently 13 African destinations. Starting December 14, Mombasa (Kenya) will be added to the network as fourteenth destination on the African network. Just as with Monrovia, SN Brussels Airlines is the only European airline serving Mombassa in scheduled operations.

About SN Brussels Airlines :
SN Brussels Airlines is the new Belgian full-service airline based in Brussels offering its customers a gateway to Europe and Africa. The company, which employs more than 1.850 people, guarantees more than 285 punctual flights a day to 49 European and 14 African cities, as well as 1 direct daily flight between Brussels and Chicago and 22 US destinations beyond.

BRU,

Monrovia (ROB) is not a NEW destination, it is just a resumption of the flights which were discontinued due to the civil war in Liberia a few months ago....

What is new however is this:

SN Brussels Airlines opens 14th African destination!

Starting 7th December, SN Brussels Airlines is extending its African network to include a new once-weekly flight to Mombasa, Kenya's paradise leisure destination on the shores of the Indian Ocean. The coastal city of Mombasa, a much older- and historically and culturally much richer - city than the country's capital Nairobi will as from then be SN Brussels Airlines' 2nd Kenyan destination.

SN Brussels Airlines will be the first airline to offer to its clients regular flights to Mombasa.

The passengers on the one-weekly flight will travel on board of a modern and comfortable Airbus A330-300, that offers a 83cm leg space in economy class and a 1m 53cm space in business class. All clients will be able to enjoy all the facilities offered by a full-service airline such as free meals, drinks, films, music. In addition, attractive prices will be offered to this leisure destination.

During the winter season 2003 (from 26 October until 27 March) the flights will be operated on following hours (local time):
MBA = Mombasa /NBO =Nairobi / BRU = Brussels
SN 477
BRU 10:10 MBA 20:45
MBA 21:40 NBO 22:45
NBO 23:50 BRU 06:10
During the summer season 2004 the flights will be operated as follows (local time):
SN 479
BRU 10:20 NBO 19:50
NBO 20:55 MBA 22:00
MBA 22:50 BRU 06:30

Thanks to an earlier agreement with SN Brussels Airlines, the tour operator Jet Air will offer places to its clients on the flights from 7 December 2003 until 31 October 2004. Mombasa, a highly praised destination by sun, nature and culture lovers is the oldest and the second largest town in Kenya. This important gate to the sea for East-Africa offers impressive uninterrupted coral reefs over a length of 480 km as well as wonderful beaches and a very large variety of birds in the Mangrove woods.

Sabenapilot,

Thanks to an earlier agreement with SN Brussels Airlines, the tour operator Jet Air will offer places to its clients on the flights from 7 December 2003 until 31 October 2004

Does this mean that JetAir will no longer use Sobelair's planes to fly tourists to Mombasa? I thought they had at least one or two weekly flights?

Regards
