I've just been reading about a new low fare airline based in Zurich, Helvetic.
Are they serious with this colour scheme?!! Check it out at www.helvetic.com.

If it's true, that has got to be the brightest/loudest ever on an F100!!!

Whoah that's a great colour scheme.

And yes, the airline is on a good way to take off soon, flying from ZRH to Valencia, Vienna and Alicante (+some charter destinations).

They plan to operate up to 10 Fokkers in the near future.

That is what I've heard about the colour scheme! Fancy, isn't it? It looks like their plans are grown quite far. Parent company is Odette Airways.

I doubt, ths aircrat will be all pink, like shown above. I mean a pink fuselage, why not. But pink wings, tails......? Let's wait and see.

However, looks fancy, yes. Something new to chase with my camera  Wink/being sarcastic

I have to agree, these colours are bit too... pink. I wonder how the F/As will look like...  Smile

By the way, their first Fokker 100 from AA has already arrived in EMA, where they will prepare it for service with Helvetic.

Aren't F100's not to expensive for a LCC? I thought 737's would be much more efficient....

IATA should make a law of what colours you are allowed to use for airlines.
But this is tipical for the Swiss to use such colours.

Why is this typical for the Swiss?

We live in a free country and use the colour schemes we like...

Wouldn't it be more expensive to paint an ENTIRE aircraft like that?? Also, wouldn't the increased amount of paint weigh the plane down more?

homosexuals is one that springs to mind, along with young school girls on their first flight.... and thats about it!

Certainly, but you would have to sell much more seats to get the bird full. The F100 has 100 seats, Helvetic (as Germania...) are operating the F100 on routes where they don't expect to fill a 737.

And by the way, those Fokker 100s are obviously very cheap now...

Don't forget that white is also a colour and painted on the fuselage!

Also don't like the colour, ly. But a law against colours? So IATA could also forbid colours from national flagg on planes.
And typical Swiss? Sorry, typical swiss is cheese, chocolate, friendly, peaceful unhurried people.

Pink isn't what I'd chose, but that's up to Helvetic...

As to rules about colours and banning them, the only happening of that nature in the past that I can remember was Air UK:

When they started out with their pretty much all blue livery (left, on a BAC 1-11) the UK CAA ordered them to change it because they considered all-blue to lack conspicuity. So Air UK introduced the white tail and made more of the white fuselage top (right, on an F-27).

@UTA - question is then if it's more dangerous to fly with the Burger-LX plane cause of lack conspicuity or eating one of these M-burgers.

25 Flykal : ...don't know how they can call themselves a "low fare" airline. They're selling ZRH-VIE for around 120 Euros one way. I can buy on-line with Austrian
26 Post contains images Stefandotde : @Gerardo: You care about that? Maybe LY thought the colours from plane are like Milka-chocolate-paper. And chocolate - swiss = same = typical swiss-co
27 Teahan : I am not overly confident about them, fares on most routes are higher than Swiss. Perhaps an easyJet/Ryanair variable fare policy would be a better id
28 ZRH : In the airline business there are so many plans which fail. I only believe in them when they fly with their ugly colors. Actually I don't care about l
29 CV990 : Hi! Taking in mind how "white" the airlines are using in their latest liveries seeing an airplane painted the way ( hopefully ) Helvetic will do it's
30 Gerardo : There's one thing, which makes me rather confident about them. True, LX offer lower prices to many of their destinations, but not on a constant basis.
31 RJ100 : Also, Helvetic flies to the business centers only when demand is high, in the morning and in the evening, while they fill the planes with charter pass
32 ZRH : Gerardo you are right, it is € 99 as I said (but the Euro sign wasn't posted). But this is without taxes, with taxes € 120 could be right. Regards
33 Unique : My recommendation: get pics of it as soon as you can!
34 Aussie_ : They will also fly to Brussels twice daily. Looking at their schedule, they start with 2 aircraft. They run the business routes morning and evening (B
35 Douglas DC 8 : As they say on their homepage, they offer you every 11th flight. Not bad...
36 Post contains images Jumbolino : nice definitly something other than an ambulance jet and my opinion regarding swiss is a open secret btw. it's Barbies plane Jumbolino.
37 Glider : As I already sai on Luchtzak.be, you should take your sunglasses when spotting it. These colours ar eso bright, this can't be healthy for your eyes :-
38 Post contains images Jkw777 : That is one horrific C/S, "I'm a barbie girl.. In a barbie world!!!" Even the wings are pink
39 Post contains images Bobrayner : One of their directors is Thomas Frischknecht? Pro cyclist, world cross-country champion? Or just a namesake?
