What's the deal with HMY anyway, are they YVR-based?

Actually Steve, I am expecting thrice daily service... I heard that HMY was ordering the super-duper Airbus killer 777 (according to a New Orleans member) specifically for the high-yield, high-load flights!

JCS,
I hope you know that I was joking. Speaking of a joke, how's DFW doing lately?

Dear Andrea and Jay,
Thank you for your interest in HMY Airways. We do not fly to New Orleans, from time to time companies charter our aircraft for various destinations and we have a company charter our aircraft to bring their employees to New Orleans. The routes that we fly are Vancouver to Toronto, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Mexico.

Missed 'em both. It's been either feast or famine the last couple of days around here. While I did get the UPS DC-8 in the new colors, and a Toyota New Zealand logo'd/Clay Lacy owned 727-51 yesterday, and N803FR (the 'bunny plane') on Wednesday, I did miss HMY and a DL 764 that was also here yesterday.
The Virgin Atlantic charter 747 is on for January 3. That also happens to be Sugar Bowl (the championship BCS game (geaux LSU Tigers!)) weekend, so we'll be busy then.

I never know that Jackie Chan was an "owner". How much of a share holding does he have? Or only "sleeping partner" type of ownership?
I know the owner is the wealthy David Ho... the Ho family is wealthy and is famous in the Vancouver area. They own the British American Tobacco in HK i believe, and many other businesses in Canada.
I think they have a large capital invested into HMY and has a good chance of success.

You are right David ho is a great business man, and very smart! If he thinks a business will succeed it will, I for 1 hope to see hmy around for a long time. And as for Jackie Chan- it is a silent partnership. Im not sure if you seen and interview that he did on a local TV station, but he talked about the partnership with chan.(sorry- just noticed you were from Malaysia so you probably didn't see it )

I'm also pretty sure there are few more shareholders in HMY, If i remember back to when Dr. Ho first announced he was gonna start an airline he had a couple B.C. based businessmen along with him, I'm pretty sure one of them is the owner of Harbour Air. I've also heard the Barry Lapointe (owner of Kelowna Flightcraft) might have some shares in them aswell, thats how KF got the maintenance contract for HMY...

Yes I too heard abt a few other smaller silent partners in this newborn airline.
There was once a rumor on Harmony picking up an ex-VN B767 which was being maintained by Boeing in BFI? (well, i just felt like using 'Harmony' as I got used to it listening to YVR controllers hehe)
Off topic but what are the other business that David Ho's family and himself owns?
A340pilot, i am originally from Malaysia but if you see my profile I have moved to Canada, and yes, BC, and even better, Richmond! <10 minutes away from YVR

Dr. Ho owns the University Golf Club, MCL Motor Cars (expensive car dealership), South Alder Greenhouses, and DTKH Robson Developments all vancouver based companies, also he is the heir to the Hong Kong Tobbaco Co. fortune.

LOL, Steve. You can crack Ft. Worthless (slightly more exciting than Crapchester) all you want, but I like Dallas. Although I would never say its better than NYC.
