That is quite an interesting one!
I am wondering if there is a lot of traffic between India and turkey, or maybe a lot of transfers at IST?
Does anyone know something more about the the load factors and demand between these two countries?

According to the Indian papers, for the 1st few weeks a TK A 332 will be flying then later on (after 3-4 weeks) the A 332 will be replaced by their A 313s!

The papers are inaccurate as usual.
Turkish does not have A330-200s in their fleet yet and the service starts in 2 days.
The initial plan was for the inaugural flight to operate with an A340-300 with a 1715 arrival in DEL for a media event, etc... but those have been scrapped for a much lower key event with the 0245 arrival and an A310.

At the rate at which AI is signing agreements for block arangements and cdeshares, i wont be surprised if AI would soon have more seats on "partner" airlines than on its own metal.

The main target market from India for TK are the UK-FRANCE-GERMANY and USA bound pax. From IST, Indian pax from DEL will fly with 1-2 hr transit to JFK or ORD nonstop from IST on TKs A 343s. If their fares are good then they should do well from India...only problem is that they dont have daily frequencies which their main competition has + not a good f-flyer program!
So their marketing campaign better be aggressive and their fares cheap otherwise they will be following LX out of DEL. However TK has said that they expect this route to take 2 years to mature. This I read from THE HINDUBUSINESSLINE online edition as well as that A 332 bit of news!!!
Havent TK sold all their A 313s to MAHAN AIR of IRAN? I recall reading that many months ago in Airliner World and Flight Intl magazines alongwith the fact that whatever options (3-5) remaining they had on A 343 orders, they have converted all of them to A 332s which will be replacing their A 310s!!!
