Bongo, this is a flight I may take next year, partly because I've read it travels over the northern polar regions. I imagine it might be a bit wearing in economy class (15 hours, 45 minutes!) which is a bargain at under $1000. USD but I won't spend nearly $6700. for 1st class. I also want to experience the 777, which I've not yet flown.

Yes, I'm sure it'll be wearing, even if I bring along plenty to do. There's just so much gazing out the window, snapping photos and whatnot you can do on such a long flight-none of which you can do at night. I'm sure it'll be a test of boredom at times but I think it'd be a nice experience overall. It'll likely be a few months before I try this, if I do, anyway. I hope there's decent IFE in Economy on that flight!

Just to point out that it should be New York/Newark instead of Liberty.

Liberty is the name of Newark Intl Airport (KEWR/EWR).

More appropriate would be New York/Newark, NJ/Liberty  Big thumbs up

I flew Houston to Narita on a Continental 777-200 two years ago. I flew in Coach class, the seating was 3-3-3, and the plane wasn't so full. You get your own TV screen, just like Singapore, except it's a little limited in video service (two years ago, but maybe it has changed). The seats recline pretty good, the food service, I give an 8 out of 10 for coach service, 10 being Singapore airlines. A menu is included in the seat pocket for the meal on the flight. Plus, beverages are free (as I can recall, but I was not 21 at the time). It's a good plane, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to try it.
