Can someone give me a short summary of that is Apple Vacations....

According to a source of mine in MX., he told me that they just signed a contract with Apple Vacations. Next November they will be running charters from US cities with Mexicana aircrafts and crews to Mexican destinations. Does anybody knows additional information?? Exact routes and aircrafts types that will run the charters?? Also, what are the possibilites for a hybrid in Apple Vacations/MX?? It would be nice to see something like this:

but USA 3000 only has A320 aircraft, and I believe only 4 of them. Apple needs about 25 to 40 aircraft a day to complete their :: entire :: charter portfolio...

Your are absolutely correct. What will happen on
this December is that there will a an MXB757
assigned to SAT and another to ORD.

Mexicana will operate to CUN/PVR/Los Cabos from these
two cities. The B757's will operate 6 days a week and
one day for Maintenance. They had a similar operation with
Apple in the Mid 90's out of EWR/PHL and BWI.

They will not paint the aircraft any different and the service
will be the same great MX service with choice of meals,
free booze and movies. The only difference is that there
will be 200 seats configured with no Clase Ejecutiva.

They might use later in 2004 B767 or A330 when Mexicana
starts MX), Mexico">MEX/EZE/MX), Mexico">MEX service and decides on what widebody
to use. Hopefully it will be an A330.

Hope this info helps you

So... one of them will be based out of SAT?
Gosh.... I used to be in charge of that station for a charter airline and we were doing a lot of business with Funjet Vacations. Sure they will be really mad at Apple's expansion in a city that used to be a classic Funjet traffic generator.

Both Funjet and Apple have become the major charter/tour operators in the market. Both of them can hold there own against each other, just smaller tour operators really do not have much of a chance.

Luf2fly, thanks a lot for your reply. Apple's website looks interesting!

Navega, thanks for your reply too. Yeap, aircrafts will be configured with 210 seats. It will be N755MX and N758MX! So they will be based at ORD and SAT!
I'll be crossing my fingers for MX to get a widebody soon!!
