Aviacsa will launch non-stop service between Miami and Monterrey, Mexico on 6 November. Aviacsa will operate a daily 737 on the route. Schedule:

Awesome to see a new carrier in Miami.

Hi! 6A is trying to establish a second hub in MTY, they already have flights to LAX, ORD, LAS, IAH and now MIA, all of 6A´s int´l destinations. It seems that MTY will be its international gateway. Inside Mexico they fly non-stop to TIJ, PVR, CJS, CUN, VSA, MLM.

Since I live in VSA but have very close ties to MTY I hope they have a great success.

If only they would add: 1) some Airbus to their 30-something years old fleet, and 2) My hometown airport LOV (Monclova, Coahuila).
Ahhh!!! Let´s keep dreaming.

Best to all

One other thing, Aviacsa will be the 3rd airline bringing the classic B737-200, to MIA.

Cayman Airways and Bahamasair brings the classic over here also, known for its loudness and wonderful takeoff performance.

3 fat alberts for MIA now.

MX340LOV:

A second hub??? MTY has always been its HQ though the legal address is in MEX...

BTW, you cannot say 6A has a hub, instead they have a major operation airport... but they do not coordinate flights to do connections.

PZ:
They are begining to coordinate the flights to do connections. Here in VSA they are promoting destinations such as MIA, LAS and CJS vía MTY, making it look as a hub.

Having their HQ in MTY doesn´t imply it has to be their hub. That may be the pattern in the US and/or Europe, but their hub (or main hub if you prefer) has always been MEX.

6A is not considered a Hub & Spoke airline. They are a point to point airline, since most of the people that fly on 6A do not make connections. And this applies to Mexico City mostly.

They have recently started to make MTY a hub with some flight coordination for connections, but only because they are not aloud to fly non-stop from Mexico City to destinations in the US that are already served by MX and AM. It is obvious that the flights they are opening to international destinations like MIA, LAX, LAS, ORD, IAH need passenger feeding because otherwise they would leave half empty from MTY and won't be profitable.

Aviacsa has found in MTY a good place to grow, because Mexico City is full and has a strong competition from airlines like ZE, AM, MX, JR, VW. So as PZ said, 6A knows MTY well because it has always been its HQ if you consider that Aviacsa was created from the merge of AeroExo and Aviacion de Chiapas with AeroExo buying the former Aviacsa...

Well, according to a source in 6A, they are studying SFO, SJC, ONT, SAN, PHX, MSY, BOS, JFK, FLL. (I'm not saying they will fly to, but they are considering these routes as possible future destinations). Also they are considering HMO as the Northwest 'hub'. So if they start SFO, SJC, ONT, SAN, PHX, they will do it from HMO. MSY, BOS, JFK, FLL will work from MTY.

And I agree with MX340LOV, in the last days I have noticed a few changes on the departure times from cities in Mexico to MTY (except from MEX, we all know why 6A it's flying via MTY and that all flights to US origin from MEX) in order to connect.

And the latest, 6A was studying the possibility to get to 40 aircrafts next year and they will! Right now they are flying 27 aircrafts (20 732s and 7 727s) 6A expects one more 732 in order to end the year with 28. Not confirmed yet, but they are planning to buy 8 second hand B737-300s and 3 B757-200s. So total will be 39... not bad huh!

Somehow, it's impressing me the way 6A it's growing!

I hope someday they will replace their old aircraft
Anyway, 737-300 is way better than what they have now

Wedgetail737:
I don't think so. As we speak LL is getting offers from other leasing companies to renew and get better aircrafts. OAK is a great destination for Allegro and I really doubt they will let anyone take that route away from them, unless govmnt. restrictions apply.

Ghost77: I spoke with a good source inside CHP today and I mentioned what you said about the 40 acft for the next year; he definitely told me that most probably will not happen. Also, mentioned they will close the year with 27 acft not 28 as planned and that they grounded a couple of 727's due to the excessive cost of fuel. Also the 727, as a natural industry tendency will cease to fly next year. Choices for substituition... 733, 734's.

So... did you spotted me yesterday when I landed on 5R, XA-TRA?

I also went to the Aeromar terminal, had lunch, asked for a coffee afterwards, closed my eyes and imagined to be in an Avioncitos meeting which I have not had the fortune to attend yet.

Saludos a todos.

Fly727,

Nope couldn't take your flights yesterday... 2.30p.m. sun still to high! Well, yesterday also, I went to 6A hangars. They received the aircraft number 27 and 28 it's schedule for mid November. He also told me that 727s will be around for at least 1.5 years more. They invest 7 million usd in the 7 727s with the WL's installation. So what 727 did 6A grounded, strange! He didn't told me nothing, nor I saw any 727s standing out of 6A hangars.

Well, either 733 or 734 would be better than those 732s!

PS. Didn't received any call from you today...

Does Aviacsa fly to any other US destinations from MEX besides IAH? I know that Aviacsa operates 2 daily flights into IAH, one from MTY and one from MEX.
