Well I haven't seen any new posts in a while. Does anybody know the current status of Delta's new livery. Just wondering how far they are coming along painting the birds.

I saw a 757 and Md 88 in the old widget scheme last week at cvg, so there have to be a few left out there.

Fewer and fewer. Each time I fly into ATL I may see 2, or in 1 in CVG.

I have seen some really gross looking widget colored B767/B757s. They are the same ones I keep seeing. I have seen some dirty airplanes in the past but these are almost brown from front to back. I almost wanna pickup a mop and start cleaning or paint. Very embarrassing. Sad

I flew a DL 738(N381DA) that had the interim(97) c/s, with the new colors nacell(engine pod). Kind of odd....

Delta puts out a monthly pub to it's employees, which has a little graph of the new colors progress...I'll check it next time and see. I'll tell you what though, the days of those dirty widgets are almost gone...enjoy em while they last! I hope they at least keep one as a heratige plane  Big grin I believe you'll still see pleanty of Ron Allen ones, as they look newer than the dirty widget ones...but they'll all be standard soon enough. I kind of find it weird, that an airline can really run around with 3 different tails....no more soon!  Big grin

No change. The last Song plane is done. They sould start painting mainline again soon. Looks like three 767 one Hooter's and on 737 are next. That is all that is listed right now.

Slightly off topic here, but I was watching CNN Business news this morning...they're saying Delta is selling 11 jetliners & deferring deliveries on 8 more. Have all the MD-11s been sold? Which 11 aircrafts are on the market now? Any members here having inside info? Regards.

I believe the ones that they are selling & deferring are the future deliveries of B738s.

I did see a widjet MD-11 (which they don't operate anymore) in ATL maintenance hanger about two days ago. I could be wrong but maybe it was going through modifications before being sold to another airline maybe to World.

The MD11's are not sold and are simply being parked. The fleet of 15 is part-owned, part=leased and all are being retained for now. Also, the MD-11 still serves the ATL-NRT flight so it is an active fleet type at DL which is why you probably saw it at the hangar.

Yea but it was a widjet MD-11 which I thought they all made it to the deserts already.

The 3 remaining MD-11s that DL still operates for NRT service all have 1997 colors. Oh well.

Also, The only deltaflot MD-11 has been gone out of ATL for a while now.

The few Deltaflot MD-11 were absolutely amazing. I love spotting them - getting tough now! Totally awesome:

JBirdAV8r: Probably true, I saw this bird in CVG and ATL a couple of times, and it was sharp.

I saw an MD-88 at MHT last week with the old widget paint job. I like that one; the middle late nineties one is awful.
