Hi all

last weekend I flew with Gexx from PMI to ZRH. Gexx is a new low cost carrier operating from germany, austria and switzerland. They operate with F100 on a 100 Pax seat config. On my last transatlantic flight I had less space to sit on a B747 that on this small nice F100!!!
The F100 has gray fine leather seats. Its astouning that I pay less and I have more comfort...
A pax on the same flight telled me that on Swiss you also have less legroom that on the F100 from Gexx.
Its crazy, isnt it? Cheaper to fly on this times better your comfort... Smile
What do u think?

Peace

Mik

It's not crazy, it's all about costs!

Gexx has 100 seats in the Fokker 100. That enables them to operate the plane with a crew of two flight attendants. With one more seat, they would need a crew of three FAs. They could put more seats into the plane, but they would need a bigger crew which would lead to higher labor costs. That's why they only have 100 seats.

How does this compare with other F100 operators? What's the ususal number of seats and do you know the seat pitch on the Gexx?

GEXX's F100s are ex-USAirways. US Airways flew them in F12Y85 configuration. So the aircraft probably kept exactly the same seat pitch. The only thing they changed was probably that the USAirways F100s had the first three rows in a 2-2 configuration.
