Hey,

Anyone know anything about a 727 freighter at Daytona Beach? Saw it this afternoon and can't figure out what its doing here. Thanks.

Yesterday I was getting to my car and I saw this aircraft which I thought was a PLanet Airways 727 (which does not operate cargo aircraft). The sun was right over the aircraft so I couldnt really see it well, but I kind thought it was a pax aircraft- maybe you saw it closer than me and it was a caergo 727.

It is an AmeriJet Int'l 727 Freighter N196AJ parked at jetcenter...as for what its doing here who knows.

I went up to the 3rd floor of the College of Avaition and it was indeed an Amerijet 727 freigher. I tried inquiring of why it was there but nobody knows.

guys a bit off topic but does champion air still fly in there??? I remember when DAB had the infamous Daytona Duseldorff route opperated by LTU with 767s and L-1011s not to mention USAir service to CLT

Champion Air operated a DTW-DAB route about a year ago. But right now the only airlines flying scheduled ops into DAB are Delta/Delta Connection (ASA, Comair) and Continental Express.
