OK.. I've got a quick question for ya'll. I'll (more then likely) be flying a DL MD-90 in the fairly new future, but I don't know much about it. The only a/c from the MD family that I have flown on was a Super-80 (AA) from ORD-SEA, and I was not impressed. What are the differences between the -80 and the -90? (From a passenger's standpoint) What are the pro's & con's of the -90?

Any info you guys can provide would be great, thanks.  Smile

Steve

I'm pretty sure DL MD90s have IFE, which the MD88s don't. Other than that the cabin should be relatively the same.

The cabin is a much more modern style, with softer reflective lighting.

The IFE is nice.

Its much quieter as well, but the S80 is decently quiet so that won't matter.

Flying on the MD-90 is a very nice experience. The difference between the MD-90 and the SP80 is similar to the difference between the 733 and the 738. Updated interiors, quieter flight, IFE, and an overall better experience.

Nobody respects me . . . :(

I have only flown on the MD90 one time as a passenger, and I have to say I liked it alot.. Very comfortable and we had a movie which was nice from DFW to FLL... Other than that it was a MD80 with IFE... Wish MD80 operators (AA included) would jump on the band wagon and install an IFE.. Would make passengers much happier.. But then again... its all about $$$$$$$$...

It is QUIET. When you take off all you hear is air rushing past the plane. I wish there were more around.
