That's awesome. Intheknow do you know what aircraft is going in next to be fitted?

Also is that slogan you said: "Sometimes long haul just isn't long enough!!!!!!!" is that going to be on the back of G-VTOP???

Thanks

VS and Sir Richard's antics are not to my liking. It's BA for me, all the way, when I am heading to, or through LHR. Connections!

The next aircraft to be fitted with the Upper Class Suite is G-VROC "Mustang Sally". This brand new 747-400 is due to enter service in mid November.

I'm very jealous of you "In The Know". I was supposed to operate the first UCS flight from JFK last Saturday but the launch was postponed!

Everything about SRB makes me want to buy Virgin everything.

I'm sorry, what is Upper Class? Is this a new class kind of service deal?

"Upper Class" is the name Virgin Atlantic gives to its Business Class service.

This is fantastic news. looking forward to the roll out on the fleet, I'll be giving this a go early next year.

remember, not all business class is the same, and irrespective of your views on Branson, it sure looks like an excellent product.

I hope it's pretty special since it took 5 months to fit in Dublin.

Has VROC arrived in DUB yet?

"Has VROC arrived in DUB yet?"

Word on the street has it that GVROC is ready to go to DUB, but could not until GVTOP had finally left, no space in the hanger !!.

FLS DUB must be rubbing their hands together in anticipation of how long they will have GVROC for - I'll be very very suprised if it's ready for mid November !!.

I also heard that even though GVTOP has been in DUB for 5..yes 5 months, they didn't even fit the new economy/premium seats or the new ife !!! - just what the hell have they been doing for 5 months ?.

I'm putting a loan on my car and my folk's house to fly this class, anybody interested?

A little different:
When will every carrier start to launch a class between economy and biz? UAL did so, Virgin since long ago...the Virgin prices are actually pretty much OK - and they still have these old-fashioned bars on their 340s...awesome! Someday I will be flying Virgin!

They were as far as I remember one of the first carriers to see the advantages of sponsoring films - Virgin is "the official carrier" of friends...

NCLusa, is BA doing their flights for charity? Airlines are running a business, it is not a gift from them to us. SO of course SRB is out to make money. That doesnt make his company any less pleasant.

Intheknow, put it a good word for us. We want some nice aircrafts out of Gatwick. WE were thrilled with out inaugural fllight G-VBIG. Hope you enjoy your flight across the pond in the new configuration. Hope to see you down here sometime...

Ka:

G-VHOT was the plane that did the relief flight to Basra, Iraq.

I understand that the lady on the nose was changed to the Union jack image so as not to offend Muslims on flying into a Muslim country, where female flesh is of course normally covered.

Captaink

The LGW 744s are going to be the last to be fitted with the new suites, however this wont be long as the whole fleet is supposed to be finished within a year. The A343s are now not being fitted out as they will leave the fleet so I guess that brings the LGW 744s conversion a bit closer than we all thought!!!............I hope!

See you soon

*****UPDATE*****

The flight today (22nd) went with regular J seats due to a tech fault on G-VTOP. So tomorrow (23rd) is the first flight of the Suite. My flight VS003!!!!! Quite an honour to be on the inaugural service! And a bit scary if I'm honest, hope it all works ok!

Am taking my Digi Camera for some anoraky pictures and would love to share them with you. How do I upload photos?

Cheers, back on Saturday morning so will have pictures asap after a little sleep!

Jetstreamer, we MUST know each other?

I'm sure we must know each other as well.....

It's a shame the launch keeps being postponed. I can't wait to fly on
G-VTOP and see the passengers reaction to the Upper Class Suite.

On the Concorde program (well i guess, i missed it, but it was on the news) it showed Sir Richard Branson doing a bit of cheeky advertising. He was standing talking with the fabulous new seats of upper class in the background. It must be still at the hangers

It will be incredible!

This week alone... First Emirates and their A340-500 cabins, Now VS!

What are the U.S. airlines going to do???

Even First Class on AA/UA that compete from

JFK-LHR
LAX-LHR

are nothing even close to the Virgin Atlantic product!

I guess this will leave CO, NW, DL, and US in the breeze!
