Should be interesting to see how well this new non-stop service will pan out.

Singapore Airlines to Omit Economy Class on New U.S. Routes

The Financial Times reports that Singapore Airlines will not offer standard economy class seating when it launches the its new ultra-long-range nonstop flights to the United States next year. When its new Airbus A340-500 jets start flying between Singapore and Los Angeles in February they reportedly will operate with just two cabins: business and Executive Economy.

According to the report, seats in Executive Economy will have five inches more leg room than most of the seats in the airline's existing economy cabins. There also will be "passenger corners" where passengers can gather and socialize and a bar that serves snacks.

Next August the airline plans to introduce the A340-500 between Singapore and New York, with the same two classes.
