Wouldn't it have been cheaper to paint them already in that ugly Air France livery? Now they have to paint it again soon.........

I think the blue KLM colours look great better than the Air France White.

Kl911... are KLM aircrafts coming in AF colours?!

I thought that KLM was going to keep it's own identity during the next coming years?

Sabena 690 ,

Guess we'll see after the merger is official next April.... My guess is that they will introduce a new livery so they can use all planes on all routes.

It was a great day, unfortunately the weather was awful (very cold, a lot of wind and rain).

KLM will keep its identity for at least 8 years! That was part of the deal.

More about these assurances can be seen in our article (last part):

I hope you don't mind the "linkplug"

Sorry, the link was unavailable for a while, but it works right now.

(I can't edit my post :S )

The pictures however looks nice! I must say: the World Business Class seat looks quite plastic and small... The Y-class looks alright, although the ptv's could be a little bit bigger  Big grin
But the new livery looks awesome on this beautiful bird  Smile

He probably meant "baptism" . . . much in the way a ship is "christened."

It even has a personal entertainment system in the overhead crew rest.
What about that ?!

This pictues has the title "Launch customer voor het Boeing Electronic Flight Bag Systeem" http://www.persfoto.com/gallery/galleries/0016nieuws/200310klm777/53%20KLM%20777%20Doop%2025%20oktober%202003.JPG
Obviously there was no pilot/technician to tell the photographer what to look for .. he managed to take a picture but miss the two big new efb displays on both sides of the cockpit ..

What route will KLM's first 777 fly on and when will the first flight be? Will it be YYZ, JFK, NBO, NRT or BOM which will receive the first KLM 777 service?

I want to go to Schiphol Airport this afternoon to see if the 777 is still there. Will it be performing test flights in the Netherlands before entering service with KLM?

I believed they are GE90's, but I'm not quite sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

What's up with the little kid? Whose son is he? Lucky kid... hehe

25 Ardian : That's the great-grandson from Albert Plesman (a famous Dutch Aviation pioneer). The plane is called after him.
26 Na : Very pretty, the 777 in KLM colours.
27 Ahsanf28 : The B777 looks great in KLM colours. I just wish they keep this paint scheme and dont jump on the bandwagon to go for an all-white scheme. KLM livery
28 Jwenting : Michael, Fokker had guarantees for 10 years, they lasted less than 5. KLM has guarantees for 5 years (not 8, AF changed the terms...) with strangling

31 Iloveek : Tolosy Expect KL will join Skyteam in April/May 2004. I also think the 777 is wonderful in KL colors!

34 N754pr : Great shots, inside the parts we don't get to see.
35 AA767400 : What will be the first route and when?
36 Tripple7 : Did somebody else notice too that the name of PH-BQA (Albert Plesman) is only painted on the left hand side of the plane. Did they forget to paint it
37 Post contains images Jwenting : I think it was only painted on one side for the christening ceremony, so they'd not have to tape over both sides of the aircraft (on the delivery flig
