Just few weeks ago I went to Athens (Greece) as I usually quite often do. One reason to go there is to spot the airplanes while lying on the beach or so. Anyway, I am wondering there is no service of Korean Air from ICN to ATH. Specially as I have many Korean friends also wondering there is no direct flight between these to city pairs, I would like to know, did Korean Air go to ATH in the past or will they fly into ATH near future? Really very curious about it, as there are many Koreans in Athens.

Ummm...because there are no Koreans in Athens? Pretty simple. There really is little to no connection between Korea and Greece. I go to Greece pretty often to visit family. I've hardly seen any Asians there unless it's Japanese tourists visiting the Acropolis. Oh, and the occasional Filipina maid -- and there seem to be a growing number of them in Greece lately.

"But then how come a KAL DC-10 crashed, of all places, in Tripoli, several years back?"
A little off topic, but KAL used to have a fairly large Middle East presence, due to a large number or Korean expat workers in the region. Cities they served were Tripoli, Abu Dhabi, Baghdad, and Bahrain.

I think there are quite many Koreans (specially tourists) in Athens. As Korea is my favorite country to go I learned to speak and understand Korean a little bit. So usually I can distinguish they are Korean or non Koreans.
