Does anyone know what will happen to the model of Concorde greeting people entering and leaving LHR????? It is quite large and very attractive. Surely G-CONC will not be dismantled and trashed??!??!??!

After the 24th October, the model had different lettering underneath it.
Prior to the 24th it read 'British Airways Concorde - Arrive Before You Leave'
Now it reads 'British Airways Concorde - Timeless'.

Not sure about what will happen to the model, as I haven't heard/seen anything yet but G-BOAB is supposedly set to become the "gate guardian" at the new terminal 5 when it's completed.
Incidently Branson and Virgin got a coup a few years back when they covered the tail with a virgin logo (on cloth), pics showed the "virgin Concorde" with Branson dressed as a pirate in front of it. It was all done hurriedly very early one morning. BA were not amused!

I think you can forget T5, plans and construction too advanced to stick a 204 feet long aircraft in the middle of it.
The model incident with Branson showed what a PR obsessed, overgrown child he is (for all his flag waving on Concorde he works hard to avoid playing UK taxes), small wonder that his interventions on Concorde were treated with the contempt they deserved, except for the tabloid press and their gullible readership.
AF knew how best to deal with him, by totally ignoring him, bet that hurt!
