I saw this Continental billboard on my way out of EWR on the monorail and knew I had to get a shot of it when I came back through to leave. I dont know whether the ad is disturbing or funny...

I thought it hilarious when I saw it billboard-style on the side of a bus in NYC. Don't know if the older crowd would understand it, though...

I don't know what makes it disturbing. It's just playing into today's pop culture. Inventive marketing if you ask me.

Maybe if they threw some 24's on their 777's, or playstation DVD's on each seat they could say that  Big thumbs up

To what demographic? People who make under $25,000 a year? To a certain extent, it makes no sense. Its funny, but from an airline marketing standpoint, its somewhat pointless.

Funny how the words "bling-bling" can be connected with a demographic making less than $25,000 a year. However, I am quite interested to hear your 'creative' explanation as to how this could be the case.

It's putting CO in the popular mainstream. That creates image that will turn in to being cool and catch on with the popular pop culture. It is basically PR to the masses not necessarily to the affluent core who can fly anyone. Hip-hop has a tremendous pull that has made "Tommy Helfiger","Polo" and "Prada" household name beyong the rich. That translates to money, period.

Well Continental has managed to attract nothing but a bunch of school kids, Gen"X"er's, and grown men who still live at home with their momma. While it's a feeble attempt at marketing, (and by the way I AM black) geared towards persons who don't fly that much in the first place . I LOVE to fly but that billboard's humor was about as dry as a 90 year old female ,and I'm sure that drew some serious right wing comments.
