Biman begins direct flight from Ctg to Riyadh
BSS, DHAKA, October 27
Bangladesh Biman will operate one more direct international flight to link the port city with Riyadh when the national flag carrier starts Riyadh-Chittagong service from Wednesday.
Biman sources said Mir Mohammad Nasiruddin, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism will welcome the inaugural
flight of Biman BG-040 when it will be arrived at Shah Amanath ® International Airport at 9.05 am on Wednesday.
On its return flight, the Biman will fly to Riyadh via Dhaka. Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia is the fifth middle-eastern destination of Bangladesh Biman from Chittagong.
The other middle-eastern destinations connected by Biman from Chittagong are Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat.
Sources also said that besides Biman , two foreign airlines-Thai and Silk Air also operate direct flights from the Shah Amanat International Airport to different destinations.
Silk Air operates two weekly flights between the port city and Singapore, while Thai airlines operate three flights a week on Chiangmai-Chittagong-Bangkok route.
Phuket Air Lines of Thailand which began its service from Chittagong to Bangkok is now suspended

This is good news for CGP passengers. I wonder if they will start a ZYL-RUH flight. Also, the schedule seems very odd. Why have flights have DAC-CGP-RUH-DAC-CGP routing as opposed to DAC-CGP-RUH-CGP-DAC?
I have not heard about leasing for Hajj, but the last two years were China Southern B777s.
Biman is about to receive delivery of a leased A310, but I think that is to replace an existing aircraft on lease.
