I want to watch a 777 delivery flight take off from Boeing Field in Seattle tomorrow. Can anybody give me any hints on where a good spot would be to view the plane before it leaves, and then when it leaves, etc?

Oh damn, does the 777 leave tomorrow? I was hoping it would be around the time the Concorde comes in! Sorry, didn't read your entire thread. No I wont be there till the 2nd of November to spot. (Well I will be there delivering to the Boeing plant, but I leave back to Canada the same day)

Hey, thank you N754pr! I am glad I didn't go out tomorrow when he wouldn't actually be leaving! Is the flight number still the same, do you know? Glad to hear Cx_flyboy is having a good time in Seattle.
N754pr, could you please email me? I want to ask you something. Thanks.

You said in the opener a 777 delivering out of Boeing Field? Is that right or do you mean Paine Field in Everett? Just curious. I was looking at the webcam of BFI today and the only 777 I saw was the 300ER. If there is another one delivering out of Boeing Field (Seattle) and not Paine Field (Everett) I need to revise my work schedule so I can be in Seattle on Thursday. Thanks for any info/clarification.

I'm no expert with the airports that Boeing use but I know the CX 773 will not depart from the `standard' 777 departure point as the runway is not long enough for the aircraft doing a direct flight to Hong Kong.

I will check and see if that web cam can be viewed by the outside world. That's interesting the 777 has to go from BFI. I work for Boeing, two days in Everett and three in Renton, so Thursday will have to be my day for Renton.
There is a Boeing lot north of the control tower, and a public lot south of the tower. There is another lot South of there, before the museum of flight and then of course the museum's lot. All have fences to shoot over. You can also park on the road on the east side of the field. The other good spot is the road at the very South end of the runway that connects Airport Way and East Marginal. I haven't tried that since they re-paved it. May not be parking available anymore. Great shots if they are taking off to the south.

There are plenty of great spots around BFI to park and watch movements.
If departures are to the North, there's a helicopter terminal/school on the North end of Perimeter Road where you can park and you're up against the fence. If to the South, I believe they finished the construction and reopened Norfolk St., and that puts you directly in line with the end of the runway. There's also the parking lot of the Museum of Flight where you can watch it depart if going to the South or taxi out if departing to the North.
