I've noticed that over the last few weeks there have been various 777 flights (BA21) from LHR to SYD utilising a 777.
This is in addition to the 747 services BA15 and BA09, and the Melbourne (BA17) service.
No information on these flights appear on the BAA website - has anyone got any details of these flights?
- are they a temporary service for duration of the rugby world cup?
- frequency?
- do they operate through Singapore?
- Are they charter or scheduled flights?

Rich,
There have not been any BA 777's to SYD, at least not since Boeing brought one in when they were still doing testing. If there had been one recently there would probably have been a dozen shots from Sam and Norbert on here by now !!!
B.T.W where does BA21 go to ???

I have ben parked next to British Airways 777s at Sydney (other than on Royal/PM Visits), but I can't for the life of me remember the flight number. From memory they came in from KL when Qantas still codeshared with BA on that route. They ceased some time ago.

Rich
I had a look at the BA site and there is no sign of the BA21 that I could see.
We are getting some charters for the rugby, but no mention of anything from BA at this stage, mind you a BA 777 would be nice.
Some charters we are getting in November are a Privatair 757, Condor 763, Icelandair 757, Air France 777, Austrian 340, the 773ER is also coming and QF receive their first 333 towards the end of November.

British Airways operated LHR-KUL-SYD using the 747-436. BA21 looks like additional flights operating for the Rugby World Cup. If only they were a regular scheduled service for Kuala Lumpur too!

Is BA operating any additional scheduled service into SYD in the next few weeks - specifically late Nov / early Dec - to coincide with the end of the rugby?

There are no additional BA services LHR-SYD published in Amadeus (they would need to be there if BA was to sell them). Currently only the normal BA009 and BA015 daily flights plus QF codeshares. I don't know if there are maybe charters for the World Cup or something that are not sold through normal distribution.

BA are not operating any 777's to Australia and have no special charters for the Rugby World Cup. The flight BA21 operated a couple of years ago but not now and never with 777.
