What MX has been doing, and I think will continue to do is to sell MX), Mexico">MEX-EZE, via MIA.

in MIA they change a/c with UA.

Thats what they have been doing for a long time.

I dont think MX will lease a 767.

From what I heard MX is not in a good economical shape.

Ok. here is the actual e-mail confirming it
(Spanish)
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Aunque
tal vez ya la sabían...
----------------------------------------------------------

OK, resuming it says:
Acording to a oficial publication of the GM, Fernando Flores anounces:
1.- To add one B767-300ER to the fleet for flying the route MX), Mexico">MEX-EZE starting December 15th. It talks about the importance this means to the company because it will be the first heavy in the fleet since the retirement of the DC-10  Crying
Also it confirms the replacment of the F-100 with the A18 (which is publicated also in the forum)

Cheers  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Finally!!! A new baby to MX's fleet!!! To bad we had to wait for 11 years since the DC10 retirement!!! But finally finally, very good news....!!

As far as I know the flight will be 4X a week....
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday

MX #1691 MEx 21:00 EZE 09:00+1
MX #1692 EZE 10:40 MEx 16:55

Apparently the configuration will be J30/Y161 = 191 I think AM got 206 in the -300s. They should consider a J30/Y181 for a total of 211 seats.

More over, it looks like they will only start with one aircraft, but they might add one more in January... a 3rd 767 in March and a 4th 767 by mid summer.

Possible routes are Canada (YVR, YUL, YYZ) and LAX.

Ricardo Morales - APM  Smile

CAN'T wait to SPOT IT!!! Probably, there are a lot of chances that I will fly this route in DEC!!

GREAT NEWS. And this means that Mexicana plans to beat Aerolineas Argentinas first to the route. AR recently applied to fly EZE-MX), Mexico">MEX-EZE, but has not started due to political issues that it is currently confronting with the government. Aerolineas' boss does not get along with some of the senators and current president of the country, which are giving the company a hard time.

Send that MX 767 to LAX. Believe it or not there are more people of Mexican descent in SoCal than there are Mexicans in the city Guadalajara.

If MX is getting one of SK's B763's, they will be different to AM's, with four emergency exits over the wings. I don't think they can get the same passenger on them just like AM's sole B767-300 XA-APB which seats 209 passengers (21J /188Y)...

Good to see that MX will finally re-start EZE, I will get to see that bird in Argentina on December. My brother is waiting for MX to upload the flight on the CRS to get his ticket.

Ghost: Are you going to EZE on December. I will be there for the Christmas and new years eve. Hope I can see you there!!!!

MX1690 EZE-MEX 10:30 - 04:55 B763

The flights are only available for purchase through Mexicana reservations system, they will upload them tomorrow on the other CRS's. Amazing!!!! I envy him, he will get to ride the B763 in Ejecutiva!!!

Superb news, finally heavy metal after so many years!

Rojo,
Make sure your brother writes a trip report. Can´t wait to hear how´s Mexicana´s service on longhaul Ejecutiva.

I think that operating a sole 767 can be very expensive for the airline, that´s why Im pretty sure more 763s will come in the near future.

Rojo - Maybe I'll be in those days too!, right now nothing confirmed... I have to wait till monday for my fathers so we can talk about it... right now they are in ORD... in case I fly to EZE I'll let you know by email!

Alvaro - You are absolutely right, apparently by mid 2004 MX will be flying 4 B767-300ERs. I was told about some rumours.. MX is studying the possibility for new routes.. such as LHR, BCN, AMS and FRA. Also UIO but that might be an A320 or B757 flight!

... but what about the "All- Airbus" fleet plans??

Aeromexico767 - I ask myself the same thing!!! But what the hell! Good they are going Boeing in the long haul fleet for now!!! Also for obvious reasons... the 757 in the fleet... pilots will have no necessities to take extra training... they can fly B767s also!!

Sounds very logical to operate 4 767s instead of just one.
I think it won't take more than 3 months to start doing it. You can't depend in one single airplane to cover your routes, what if has a failure, 757 won't go all the way to EZE non stop...
MXA for sure will be adding more 67's

American Airlines' Flagship Suite service on thier 777s that fly between Miami and Buenos Aires are is considered among the best in the world and one of the few from a US carrier that can compete with international carriers from Asia and Europe, continually ranking among the world's best. Coach passengers get PTVs and MRTC, and many MIA-EZE flights are staffed by American's Buenos Aires-based FA's, who are known to be friendly.

I'm not saying that Mexicana has bad service, but I am saying American Airlines international service is highly regarded.

I agree that AA's service to EZE is, well, not bad. I can confirm this because I took the MIA-EZE-MIA flight last February. I do have to say the 777 I flew in on the EZE-MIA sector was nice, the PTVs, MRTC and everything, but the inflight service was honestly not as good as any MX flight I've been on (and I've been on many). As for the MIA-EZE flight, which was on a 767, well. . .I understand AA does not use 767s to EZE anymore so it would be unfair to compare it with MX service and therefore I won't comment, but I really wouldn't have many nice things to say, except for MRTC.
