JFK doesn't have slots. (I think.)

JAL-Actually, JFK is one of the three airports in the country where the slots are actually governed by the FAA (LGA and DCA are the other two)

Well... there's an abundance of them then. I haven't heard of any airline that wanted to operate to JFK but couldn't because of slots.

JFK is only slot-controlled during the late evening

..unless the slot in question was at LHR, I doubt BA will make much use of it here in the USA. Concorde was the first transatlantic flight of the day to land on USA soil.

JAL777, as you don't show an email adress, I'll have to ask this offtopic question here: are you Pedro from www.aviacao.net?

thanks
Luis

How can that be? Virgins VS045 leaves LHR at 08:25 while Concorde left at 18:30. I know Concorde is fast, but not that fast! Smile

That's not true. jetBlue was only able to begin services due to a slot exemption policy facilitated by the Senators from New York.

I think he might be referring to AF's Concorde, which did arrive in time to get you to Manhattan by 9:30.
