Allegiant is looking at more expansion. The one city that I have a media report on is Redding (RDD). Nothing firm yet but the city is considering offering a $135,000 incentive in the negotiations.
According to an article from Redding, an Allegiant spokesman states the company is currently talking with 20 cities. "Typically, the markets we are serving are underserved where there are not a lot of alternatives," Allegiant Vice President of Marketing and Sales Mark Peterson said Friday from Fresno.
Peterson explained that Allegiant, which expanded into four markets this year, is currently talking with 20 other communities around the country in addition to Redding. He wouldn't name any of the other cities, but did say some are in California. http://www.redding.com/news/stories/20031101lo041.shtml
Any guesses on the other cities currently being considered for next year's expansion.

SCK in California and LNK, RFD, BMI & XNA in Mid-American assuming they keep adding to LAS.

Wasn't it Redding that missed out on some Federal Fuding for QX to start service to LAX, and SkyWest to start Jet service to Denver?
As for Allegiant, their growth will be in cities that they can package LAS holidays for, and not much more than that. So I don't think you will see them in any places that allready have LAS nonstop service. Probably Santa Barbara,
Eugene, Midland TX, Lincoln NE, Bellingham WA would appear on thier list

I was looking at that Ft. Collins airport and the runway is only 100 feet wide. That is FNL they fly into right?
Seems to me if they fly there, they would fly anywhere.

Yep, FNL is the airport. They just started last year and are the only airline at that airport. It had not had regularly scheduled passenger flights since 1997.

I think they operate 4 flights a week to Ft Collins.
They are however becoming more dynamic in their marketing. They have a new paint scheme for their aircraft, and I see they have rolled out a revised website in the last few days.

Slightly off topic here, but what kind of fleet does Allegiant have? They already fly here to Bullhead City, AZ. Their MD-80s fly over my home once or twice a day on final approach to IFP. All I know is they only have MD-80s. Anyone have more info on the fleet? Regards.

What the hell are you saying 990? XNA has way too much service right now, thanks to the evil Monopoly in Bentonville, they have no need for more service at this time.
as always, GPT would be an ideal choice, it is underserved in terms of seats and destinations, and could benefit form connecting flts to LAS.

Allegiants emphasis is not on cities where you allready have companies like WN offering dirt cheap fares to LAS. MDW & STL allready have this. The only reason they are in DEN is because they offer a number of weekly charters to Mexico for a tour company in Denver. Outside that, they will only be interested in cities such as Bellingham WA, Corpus Christi TX, Rochester MN, Santa BArbara CA, Pasco WA, Sioux Falls SD, Rapid City SD, Sioux City IA, Lincoln NE, and the likes of cities like these. They are making money offering LAS trips in cities such as this through the tour company they have partnered with. Much of this is underwirtten by the Casino/Hotel groups they offer the packages through.

Nice paint scheme, horrible crews, and unreliable service. When they take a delay? It isn't a 20 or 30 minute delay, they go all out and make it a 4 to 6 hour delay.
The paint schme looks good on those leased SAS md-80's

I think SunValley is correct that nearly all cities chosen by Allegiant will be cities without current LAS service but with high numbers of gamblers. I will post more about that for people to ponder after there are a few more guesses. I'll also add some of my own guesses.
A couple of comments:
SCK has spoken with Allegiant. The area seems promising but the recent failure of AWX service is hurting the possibility.
I understand that Ft. Collins is doing OK but not spectacular. But I haven't seen any numbers to determine that for myself.
As far as the fleet, the last numbers I had for the fleet were
2 MD-87s
2 MD-83s
1 MD-82
More aircraft are coming in the next 12 months. I have heard conflicting info on the model(s) and source(s). The current fleet includes ex-SAS and ex-CO aircraft. One source says to expect up to 5 new aircraft in the next 12 months.

Dsuairptman...
I bet Allegiant can pull more casino package buyers out of XNA then GPT. Isn't GPT more of a D (destination) than an O (origin)?
I can see Southeast extending Florida-GPT flights to LAS sometime down the line. Southeast already flies to LAS from LCK and this would close the loop.
I do see where there are 13 flights on a weekday from XNA-DFW. This is a bit overkill. But still there are no XNA-LAS non-stops.

They have told me in the past that TOL is a city that fits their mold perfectly...so perhaps that is one of the 20. However, I'm not sure they are willing to compete against TransMeridian's 727s (soon to be 757s again) to LAS.

You guys can get an idea of how Allegiant is doing if you look at their prices on their reservation page.
