This small, albeit well funded (Apple Vacations), airline has kept a low-profile. Anyone have any idea how they're doing? I understand they will be up to eight A-320s for the winter season. I've seen three of their A-320s lined up at Punta Cana - all packed with tourists returning home.

The reason for the name USA 3000 was its ties to Canada 3000. Angus Kinnear is now operating the USA 3000, From what some of the flight attendants form Canada 3000 have told me his plan was to have the two airlines come under the same, That is what I was told. who knows. but they seem to be doing well. Angus did an amazing job with Canada 3000. starting his canada 3000 holidays. flights were full and they had a great route network. Too bad the people that were working under him and on the board of directors delt the death blow to Canada 3000. But I think USA 3000 is in great hands with him running it. I think they will be a very large carrier as Canada 3000 was. Just hope he has a better board of directors with him this time.

The name Canada 3000 came about due to Transaport Canada not allowing them to have the name "Canada 2000" as they were somewhat affiliated with Air 2000 out ofr the UK. The person who owns USA 3000 was part of the Board of Directors at Canada 3000 in the early years. After the bankruptcy of Canada 3000, the president of the company left and was offered a position at USA 3000.
They are very much linked and thats why their names are similar.
Canada 2000 - Canada 3000 and now USA 3000

USA3K has daily flights from Cleveland to Ft Meyers, Punta Cana, Cincinnati, and Cancun I beleive. Well, at least they have one a day to one of those places. Contrary to common belief, they are a scheduled LCC. It's not charters. They have 2 check in desks here and are staffed all the time. They also serve ORD, PHL, BWI, PIT, and CMH if I'm not mistaken.

USA 3000 started DTW-PIE flights--well, they actually started them today. Flights will operate Tues, Thurs, Sun. They are going to start DTW-FLL flights in December. From what I've heard, their advance bookings are very strong. I believe Apple Vacations has been using them on DTW-PUJ and DTW-POP charter flights (there's a couple of dandy airport codes).

USA 3000 does scheduled service once a week between Columbus and Cancun, which operates every Sunday. Apple Vacations uses a certain percentage of the seats available for their Cancun vacation packages. Flights are available for purchase from http://www.usa3000.com, but when I checked fares for a flight from CMH to CUN, it was outrageously expensive. USA 3000 will also be doing nonstop service from CMH to PUJ this winter every Monday, but I believe the flight will be used by Apple Vacations exclusively, and will not be available for separate purchase.

My grandmother took US3k to PVR on Sunday from DTW. She raved about the service and the aircraft. The FA's were constantly in attendance serving the passengers... hmm what a concept. The aircraft was clean and the flight was ontime. She booked the tkt through Apple Vacations.

USA3000 is owned by Apple Vacations East, as there is also an Apple Vacations West. There are both owned by the same, tho they operate totally separate, both have there own corporate Offices, Apple East is on PA and Apple West is in IL. The reason for starting there own charter airline was to have some control over quality and reliability. Tho they still use a slew of charter airlines as they are growing USA3000.
