Emirates has announced 3 different cabin configuration for its 41 Airbus A380 :

- 533 PAX in a classic First/business/Eco three classes layout.

- 500 PAX again in 3 classes for its nonstop flights DXB-Australia

- 653 PAX in a two class config. from its flights DXB-India.

What about other airlines A380 (QF, LH, VS etc...) ? Did they announce already the future config. of their a/c ?

Expect all the 3 versions to be used on LHR flights however expect version 2 only to be used on nonstop flights to YYZ and JFK in the future if theyre successful with the A 345 and demand is high for them.

Behramjee, do you really see in the future Emirates operating the A380 to Dubai? I just don't see how this might be a heavily traveled route. At least not enough to warrant an A380 and enough to question the need for a direct A340-500.

Im sorry for not being up to date....but WOW 41 A380......WTF. Is Emirates gonna be able to fill all those suckers? How much is that gonna cost them? 17Billion or something? This is just amazing the shit out of me that they ordered 41. They have to be the launch costomer.

Emirates placed the biggest order for the A380 until now : 41 + 2 options (I don't know why they just didn't order 43... would be more simple ! ).

Don't think this huge order for the huge a/c will be beaten by any other airline....
Singapore is the second with 10 + 15 options, then QANTAS with 12 + 12 options

They even have departure times??? Whoa! Too bad spotting will be illegal within a 10 km radius of the airport by that time! hehe.

Qantas's A380's will have a 515 seat lay out and I think it was scheduled for 24FBed/74JBed/417Y, this was to be the one standard be it if the aircraft was operating to USA or to EUROPE, no word on if they were to have a premium economy.

Given that the A380 range was normally 8000 miles that is why I think EK was doing a reduced pax aircraft similar to the what Qantas does with it's Pacific configured 744's (358 v's other 3 class 744's of 394 pax).
