Best: Qantas or BA
Worst: probably something like America West from Phoenix to Des Moines?

fly Saha Air 707s daily from Tehran's downtown Mehrabad to Mashhad, Kish Island and Ahwaz

Definitely best First Class: CX

Worst: don't know, perhaps any american First Class compared to European and Asian ones.

For some shots of CX and other First/Business class http://www.aviationjet.com which is my personal site.

Regards.
Daniele.

I think Virgin's Upper Class is a sad excuse for a First Class - it is really only comparable to a good Businness Class. But then it probably costs the same as other airlines' Business Class...

I think SAA's First Class (744) looks really good. However, the new Emirates First Class (A340-500) has taken things to another level...it looks amazing.

NW would probably take the cake for worst. I experienced their horrible wannabe service on a DC-10-40 from EWR-AMS back in 1998. Silverware was wrapped in plastic, only one salad dressing choice, served from a cart instead of hand delievered in F/C.

Furthermore, the seats were uncomfortable and outdated.

The best would have to be their codeshare partner, Continental Airlines.

Neither NW nor CO offer International First Class -- now that US sells Row 1 on their A330 as Envoy, only AA/UA do. NW updated its WBC product a few years ago when they phased out what remained of their First... it's currently in the process of being updated again, with one B744 and five A330 receiving the new seats + every aircraft receiving the new meal service.

Say what you want about NW, but I believe AA's Business Class offering is the worst of the network carriers - those seats are cramped! However, the food is good.
