On Feb 12 NW will start service to SLC with a 12:00 noon departure arriving at 2:00pm local time. It's timed in between DL's morning and evening flights to provide three choices throughout the day once the new 650 city pairs are added later this year.

I thought DL cut the DTW-SLC service a couple years ago? AFAIK, it does not exist anymore.
They did, but they are now restarting it. DL/NW/CO cannot codeshare on routes that they compete on. Hence, CO is announced CLE-SLC (and EWR-SLC, but that was announced before the codeshare deal), DL has announced DFW-DTW/MSP and SLC-DTW, and NW has announced DTW-SLC.

This is excellent.
Go Skyteam. I LOVE that soon SLC will be getting new frequencies of service. It's about time!

MAH4546, thanks for that info. How long have they been flying ARJs to SLC? I have never heard of this or seen them here.

We started SLC service twice daily from MSP on 10.26.03 using the Avro RJ85. We fly the 2nd and 4th flights into SLC arriving at 1634 and 2302. We also then, fly the 1st and 4th flights back to MSP departing at 600 and 1730. All flights are meal flights in first except the last MSP-SLC flight as it departs MSP at 2105.
The flights are pushing the range of the Avro so if the wind is bad and or if there is a need for an alternate an unscheduled fuel stop in RAP has been known to happen.

the SLC site doesn't even list service from Northwest Airlink.

It doesn't need to list anything separate - the only thing that is different is that the plane is smaller. The crews are different as well and probably provide a better service than mainline does... THis is the same situation for every single city that mainline and the airlinks fly to. We go to 1 flight a day in the Jan schedule change. From the customers perspective nothing has changed, but equipment.
