I'm not too sure if this has been talked about before......

I know I'm late but I just found out CX will flying to mainland China from HKG. I was wondering why CX will be flying the new routes if there sister airline Dragon Air already does. What will CX flying the same routes do the there relationship with Dragon Air?

Also does Dragon Air have any plans to expand anywhere in Asia such as Malaysia, Indonesia or even India?

KA and CX are different airlines, KA is owned by CNAC and CX by SWIRE.

CX are going to China and KA have started to Bangkok with talk of them going to Australia.

A few years ago, I read something that for Indonesia, Jakarta and Bali would be for CX while Surabaya and Medan was to be for KA. Well, I think all that has/will change...

CX has some shares in KA, but only a minority.

CX has good IFE, KA doesn't, so what are people's choices to BJS?

Cchan, my dad is a regular traveller on both these airlines to Taiwan. He said recently the new Dragonair product (service, new seats, food, entertainment system) has been improved significantly. Still no PTV's but they have the drop-down LCD's. Their new business and first class product proves rather competitive to CX.

The two airlines are at war! Big grin

People. They make an airline. www.cathaypacific.com
