Anyone able to tell me which carriers in Latin- and South-America are currently interested in purchasing/leasing regional equipment? At least VASP and Aeromexico are in the market. but what about the second- and third-tier carriers? Anything from them? Is LAN Chile in the market? What about AeroContinente? At one stage they were interested in replacing their B732 and 721 with modern, large RJs.

No news of any RJs. But today Southern Winds announced today that they are on negociations for the third 763ER lease, two 732 from Varig and two more 733 on negociations.
It appeared today in a local newspaper http://www.infobae.com

Matt.

Nothing that anybody could write here willl beat the info. in the threads already out there -some may differ- I suggest your best bet is to do a research on recent topics in the matter.

Unless their local economies improve, I doubt you'll see much investment in brand-new aircraft. There is a small Colombia regional called Estellar that plans to acquire some Brasilia's, but I doubt anyone, save Aeromar from Mexico, is shopping on a grand scale for new equipment.
If your query is for more business prospects, I recommend looking up "AvNews Latin America & Caribbean" as they cover aircraft movements in the region pretty comprehensively.

Satena Colombia is replacing their old F28s and Casa 212 with embraer 145 and embraer 120; they have already some of them on their fleet as well as the D328

VASP is now completing 70 years of operations (in very bad shape), and its president, Wagner Canhedo said that VASP is going to change its fleet, which is quite old. VASP's financial situation got a bit better, but nothing very good that may possibility the airline to purchase/lease aircrafts. About what Canhedo said, he was probably talking about regional jets, as VASP has only domestic routes and still have no plans to go back to int'l routes...

I´ve heard COPA and bmi being mentioned in the past. However I would discount bmi, it is more likely that they decide after the large STAR Alliance order has been placed to get some commonality.

Ricardo, can you confirm the AeroMar leasing order? Haven´t heard anything about this, neither from GECAS nor from Embraer. Anyway, if it is a leasing order it would definately come from GECAS as they are the only lessor for this type.
