My favorite AR livery was the one they used throughout the 80's. I thought it was elegant, classic and original. It made yout turn your head. Then came Iberia and experimented with its scheme but in Argentine's classic colors. I believe the worst one is the actual one. Sure, they kept the bird, but...
Would you care to share which one is your favorite and why?

This was the nicest paint job of ANY airline ever... (just my opinion) -
Long before joining AR, when I was with PanAm, I loved their livery...

When Iberia came in - they insisted on having AR having something that reminded the paint scheme and logos of Iberia... Disgusting...

Funny thing is, as a pilot, I do not care what airplanes look like outside, yet, when I flew a plane with our old colors, I loved it... For me, the "AA" on the tail, the use of two-tone blue, was pretty... Blue is the color of the skies...

I am on the management board with AR... I try to get the old paint job back on our planes, even if it needs minor changes...

Are you on the mangemnet board? I'm looking for a job you know...
Seriouly I hope you can bring that wonderful livery back. Once I saw the AR 747SP on a circling approach in Mexico City just at that 5 mile point where they have to turn and align with 23 and it was just an incredible sight. It was the plane, and the colors.

Many considerations... nothing definite...
(used) B747-400s... or B747-300s... or new A340-500s...
I have completed study to show used B747-300 as being the best deal.

I agree with you guys.... that paint scheme from the 80's was the nicest. Absolutely disgusting that IB modified it. Hope you can have it back although some minor modifications could be needed according to the present and future of that great airline.

I agree with you completely, gentlemen. AR's color scheme in the 80's was, IMHO, one of the classiest, nicest color schemes ever to grace an airliner, of any airline. Those 747's looked absolutely beautiful.
But the IB style scheme.. well, it was a disgrace. Even though I like IB's colors on the 747, the blue AR version looks just...cheap. Like some temporary c/s. I know I may get flamed for this, but it just goes to show how much IB really cared for AR. No one in their right mind could approve such a change in the image of an airline and sleep well at night.
I only wish AR came back to MEX, as I've never flown them. Any chance they may come back to MEX earlier than march, when I will be traveling to EZE?
