Greetings,

For some reason, Singapore Airlines Limited's website - http://www.singaporeair.com - states that SQ5422 from SIN to BWN was operated by a 767.

Was this Royal Brunei Airlines by any chance?

SQ5428 was operated by an A319, presumably from SilkAir.

Hi Singapore_Air,

SQ and BI do indeed codeshare on this route. Today's flights were BI421 and BI427 operating SQ5421/SQ5427.

Hope to have helped you.

Regards

Thanks.

I knew Royal Brunei were codesharing but I thought a 767 would be a little big.

I'm surprised that you don't know that RBA operated the 763 into SIN for quite some time. The 763 was always used on the BWN-SIN-CCU-DXB(-KWI) vv. flights and on some BWN-SIN vv. flights as well. 319 could be from RBA as well.

Before, they only used 763 into KUL but now, they have a mix of 752, 319 and 763 into KUL.

BI and SQ have been codesharing for some months now. Makes a lot of sense. BI operates quite a few 767 flights, they are seldom full... but then BI isn't the most profit-focused airline in the world.

I flew a Royal Brunei 763 on a Singapore-Bandar Seri Begawan-Abu Dhabi route back in November of 1999. Business Class, me and my 2 colleagues were the only ones in that class the first leg. 7 hour layover in BWN, then 8 hrs or so to AUH; long day with no alcohol...

Before the arrival of their A319s they even had B763s flying to BKI and KCH from BWN.... BKI-BWN is SHORT for a B763.  Insane

Four-digit SQ flight numbers are either cargo, charter or codeshare. This would be a BI aircraft. Only SQ181/182 would be operated SQ/MI aircraft.

singapore_air......it is definitely a BI service.......they are using A319s now to serve regional routes...... KUL is still served with a mixture of 763s and 319s....
