I just flew into DFW two hours ago and saw an ATA L10 sitting at the General Aviation. I am fairly certain ATA has no scheduled L10's any more. Must be some type of charter???? Any idea who. Or do they still fly them scheduled. I would love to fly on a Trijet again!  Smile  Smile

In the Air Force we use them for charters all the time, though I am not aware of any AF ones at DFW. I've flown them several times to Saudi, though never through DFW.

I've read on the forum that they also use them for vacation charters on occasion.?????

I believe the military dropoffs for the r/r flights were supposed to start coming that way this week.So the boys will have an easier time getting home.Keep on the lookout for some Omni Dc-10's and World airplanes.

Here's the flight information. It's an unusual military charter if that's what it is. It did pass through ATL which is a big AMC airport though. It must have made a few extra stops to make it easier for soldiers to get home.

Actually Bangor is our main stop coming back from Europe/Saudi. Pease is a secondary stop.

Bangor is the normal point that many military and military charter planes go through customs. I've used it both on the E-3 and Charters.

ATL has had an increase in AMC charters for holiday R and R, as ATL is one of the main staging areas for the R and R flights, and many of these extra flights continue on to DFW from ATL. Most of the extra flights have been operated by North American using a 763, but ATA has been throwing in an extra L-1011 as well (they usually operate at least one or two AMC charters out of ATL a week already). This is in addition to our normal number of weekly AMC charters to FRA, usually routed ATL-BWI-FRA, BWI-ATL-FRA, or ATL-FRA, operated by either OAI, ATA, or World.
