Does anyone know, there is a website for Cairo International airport in Egypt. If so, please let me know the link.

And which airlines are flying to CAI with which aircraft?

Thanks for any information.

Regards

I flew to CAI aboard BA and its B744 on 26th Jan. this year and returned on 26th Feb. BA always uses the 744 on its daily LHR-CAI flight, and has previously used the 772 and 742.

SQ uses the 772.

LH used to use only the A340, but I believe it now uses only the A330 or a combination of the two. Its flights to CAI continue onto other destinations in Africa, formerly, and perhaps still, to Sudan (Khatoum) and Ethiopia (ADD).

OA uses the 737.

AF uses the 772.

AZ used to operate the M80 and 321.

There are many other scheduled airline but I cannot find their schedule or the aircraft they use especially from Europe and the Middle East (Three new low-cost airline plan to fly to Cairo from UAE).

The national carrier, Egyptair, bases its main operations at the airport and serves most major cities in Europe, Middle East, North America (New York and Montreal), Asia (Tokyo, Osaka, Bangkok, Manilla, Beijing) and Africa as well as an extensive domestic network.

It is the largest airport in Africa after Johannesburg

The airport is in the process of choosing who will construct the third terminal at the airport to meet expected future growth.

Just one correction:

JAT flies from Belgrade to Cairo with the B737, not Bulgarian.

One thing I noticed is that India is hardly served at all from CAI, but for a thrice-weekly (or perhaps four-times-weekly) service to BOM via Sharjah using either the 320 or AB3. Does this suggest that Egypt does not have a large or even relatively large Indian population?

CAI does look kind of dirty and like a big mess. But I've seen worst, some in East Europe during the Soviet years.

Thanks to all the responses, specially the very detailed report of EA777!

Hope CAI will be open it's own webpage as soon. And I think CAI would be a good and interesting place for plane spotting.

The Old Airport (Terminal 1-Egyptair flights only) is quite old and needs to be refurbished. Terminal 2 the slightly newer one used by all international airlines is much better. They have improved the departure gates immensly with glass-pannels surrounding ornamental gardens-which look very nice. I have to say though they can expand their duty free.

With the new terminal expected now, standards will be improved dramatically.
