It used to be that the last departure was at 8pm....

now there are at least 20 departures schduled between 8pm and 10:30pm!

so here is my question list:
1) why are there so many late departures?
2) why did this just recently start?
3) is this a trend nationwide?
4) why the heck is B6 doing a 10:30pm FLL departure?

a suprise because if you are not at a club here, you are sleeping at 10:30!

still find it kind of odd... since you do operate a 9:00 as well.

You are correct that FLL has added some late night flights......for example, both Song and America West have late flights out to Las Vegas nonstop from FLL. Part of the trend is that FLL is growing as an airport and some new destinations are being added, and FLL is now served by several LCC carriers that offer a lot of frequency and fly there airplanes more hours each day. Is it a nationwide trend? I really dont think so, some carriers have cut back their last connection complex at hubs since pax dont really care for very late arrivals.

Re the JeBlue flight at 2230, its a popular choice for the condo-crowd in Fort Lauderdale and Boca heading back to New York - I understand its difficult to get a seat on that flight on Sunday and Monday nights. Spend the entire day in the sun, grab dinner and then head to the airport. Back in the days that Eastern and National ruled the Florida to New York routes, there were always late night flights out of FLorida back to New York......National had a 747 from MIA to JFK and DC10s operating from MIA to LGA, MIA to EWR, FLL to JFK - all departing at 2200 - the good old days.

Yes, as for Tower Air were used on the B747 aircraft from 3 years ago from FLL/MIA-JFK flight. I still remember for these flight on the passengers by the flight to New York City. Because B6 were always full on their flight from FLL-JFK and which one is 15 daily roundtrip nonstopeach days for during in the winter season and will able to cut some of those flight during in the summer. Hope this is your helps. Thanks!  Smile
