HKG To Canada Routes On CX And AC

I'm wondering a few things about HKG to Canada routes on CX and AC.
First of all, does AC really fly from HKG - YYZ straight nonstop (I think the flight is AC16)? On the AC travel desk it doesn't say so. Also, when I was at the YYZ Airport Site in the departures section, I saw that CX was flying to YVR. So does CX fly from HKG - YVR - YYZ and back the same way? What aircraft? Are passengers allowed to go from YVR - YYZ on CX? Because it would be so great to do so, it beats AC by far!

Both AC and CX fly nonstop HKG-YYZ.

AC flies YYZ-YVR-HKG with full passenger traffic rights on the YYZ-YVR segment.

CX flies YYZ-YVR-HKG with no passenger rights on the YYZ-YVR segment. YVR is simply a technical stop for refueling and crew change.
