BD have been aloowed to operate on the LHR-DOH route, any idea hwen will service begin? do they plan to fly to other countries in the middle east and beyond?

BA resumed service to Islamabd on Monday with a 777 nonstop from LHR.

Hi Airmale,

Not sure if the will commence operations on the route, just because they have the rights. Alot of airlines have rights to fly places, and don;t excercise those rights.

If BMI had rights to DUBAI then I would expect them to fly the route ASAP and get from DXB connecting traffic from the Indian Subcontinent and Middle East region for UK and Western Europe BUT I dont think so that they are that keen to DOHA though they have the rights.

As for BA returning to ISB...they had 200+ pax on their 1st returning flight.

Btw AIR MALE...u had said b4 in one of ur posts that PIA is not doing well on its YYZ route which was increased this summer to 3 weekly!!! Kindly give me more facts on this as it is surprising considering that they want to upgrade the route to a B 777-200ER sometime next year.

Thanks  Smile

Behramjee / Airmale,
While on vacation in September, I was speaking to chap who was talking about a new airline strarting op in January 2004, using ex Saudi 737-200's / Tristar's for passenger / cargo respectively. Apparently the engineering side would stil be done by Saudia. Have you heard such news?

Now this converstaion took place on the golf course in Karachi so it may have been spiced up a bit!!!
