Airservices Australia and the ATSB are investigating a "near miss" which occurred near MEL yesterday between a DJ 737 and a Cesna.

The ATC Union has blamed the changes made last week to Australia's airspace for the incident, though radio reports here are saying that it could take "some weeks" to determine the cause; according to the same radio reports the ATSB has taken the radio and radar tapes to aid in the investigation.

Hardly surprisingly, the Federal Labor opposition have called on the Australian Transport Minister to suspend the NAS introduced last week, following the alledged near miss.
