Hey guys,
The Christmas season is upon us.
I have been thinking for a while that like sometime in December, we should ALL get together and not only do some plane spotting but head out to dinner inside the Airport Terminal. There are two places which seem proper for us to hit. MONTANA's or CHEERS.
(Cheers have a smoking lounge which places you right against the window overlooking parkd traffic) So peeps like Wvj04 will be happy.
I am informing you guys about this now to basically ask whether you guys are interested in doing this.
The date is Saturday December 13th, 10 days from now that is.
Also I havent decided like where we will meet up and stuff like that. But Basically you guys come up whenever you want and from there we can eventually meet up at various spots around the perimeter. As long as all this takes place before dinner time.
So far there are a handful who have shown interest but it would be great to have some more people join in on the fun at YYC for that day.
I will keep ya'll updated with any further details and such.
Bo

Ya, I will be there Bo.
I'd recommend Montana's since they recently opened a "back porch" over looking the apron. The link is on the main page of .
I'm not too sure how early I'll be out that day, I may be in Canmore doing a photoshoot with Alpine Helicopters, but that would be in the early morning, and is still being arranged.

Thanks for the link Mark,
Yeah I read it.. The Montana's view deck does sound interesting but I will have to think about it. I may try and make a visit to both places to see what its like, the facilities, view etc.

Plus also with Cheers, the lounge brings difficulties for me due to not being 18 for another month. So we'd have to rely on good'ol Johnny FAKEID...lol

Crud, there is a problem but also since there will be a number of adults around with us maybe they might be able to include you in as an exception.
I think the Brits start flowing in around the 20th just in time for XMas.
I will head back to the airport this Sat to check out Both places as a matter of fact then I will let you guys know forsure.. Maybe I will also try and provide some picts of the lounge areas especially that of Montana's.

Kay,
I went to the airport and checked out both places. CHEERS will be the place we will head to for NExt Saturday. It's eating area has the best facilities for airfield views as the one in Montana's the lounge is inside facing towards the terminal. ALso the one in Cheers may not require adults only as its essentially just the smoking section of the restaurant.
I will provide some pictures of both places as proof in a bit after I upload it to a site.

Update:
Have sent emails to all who are interested and awaiting confirmation.
So far I think Cheers will be the best place for us to hit as it provides a nice elevated view of the airport.
Those who plan on coming:
Kris Bryan, Mark McWhirter, Bill Gilson, Reese(Goose), Chris Sands, James Carver, Shane Walker, Richard Barsby.

It is Tomorrow Saturday the 13th.
For spotting: You guys can come anytime ya want whether morning or afternoon. Chances are you'll all run into each other at some common spotting locations. Or just all meet up at Fire Station or under Runway 16 path or somethin.
For Dinner: Lets all aim to be inside Cheers at 7pm at the smoking lounge overlooking the apron. I will try and make it out at 6pm as I have to work all day. Will phone a few of u, Kris, Mark etc to see what is happening after i get back from work at 5pm area.
Seeu all there!
